Split string with powershell

How can i split a powershell string?
The Array $args[0] contains a urlname like this:

http://servername/sites/sitename

I want now to edit the have the string like this:


https://officalname/sites/sitename


The /sites/sitename should be a variable part taken from the $args[0] array!

How can i do this with powershell?

You can use .split() on the string, but it sounds like a better option for you is -replace.

"http://servername/sites/sitename" -replace "servername","officalname"
https://officalname/sites/sitename

hmmm... I just notice the s :)

"http://servername/sites/sitename" -replace "servername","officalname" -replace "http","https"
https://officalname/sites/sitename

or using split

$url = "http://servername/sites/sitename".split("/")
"https://{0}/{1}/{2}" -f "Officalname",$url[3],$url[4]
