with this utility you can scan your drive for bad blocks, and check s.m.a.r.t. data and self tests.

I have seen this message on NTFS drives with a damaged partition table. I dont know how it became damaged, but the only solution was to reformat the drive, which writes new partition information. after the format everything worked smoothly for me. However, if you do have a failing drive, formatting it would only be a temporary fix at best.

I do beleive the hard drive is failing or the controller for it. if the c: drive that you are using is not a raid drive you can try spinrite 6.0 to route around the bad spots but be away this can take a seriously long time and not sure how critical this server is to daily opperations. spinrite is available at grc.com
