WSUS 3 not working after changing server IP address

Asked by broussardgroup in Windows 2003 Server

Tags: Microsoft, WSUS, 3.0, Changed server IP address

Windows Server 2003 SP2.  WSUS 3 has been working great for 6+ mos.  I had to change the servers IP address.  Everything -- AD, DNS, other apps flowed just fine to new IP EXCEPT WSUS.  WSUS Admin Site is working at the new IP but in the "To Do List" it gives the error "Check your server configuration
One or more Update Service components could not be contacted. Check your server status and ensure that the Windows Server Update Service is running. Non-running services: SelfUpdate".

WSUS database is local on the server -- SQL Express.

I've tried rebooting, manually restarting service "Update Services".  After I restart the service the message goes away but after a short time it comes back.  I imagine there is some setting somewhere on this machine still referring to the old IP address but I don't know where to look.Start Free Trial
