After cleaning a TON of spyware from a Windows 2003 server (booting with ERD Commander to do the cleaning), I can no longer log into the server. I am not sure what I removed or made itself necessary to start up.
When I enter the admin password, it goes to "loading settings", then immediately to "logging off" and back to the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen.
1. I can boot the server to the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen in normal mode, but cannot log in
2. I can boot the server to the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen in safe mode, but cannot log in
3. I cannot log into the server using Terminal Services in the usual way
4. I cannot log into the server using Terminal Services with the console switch
The server however, starts up and acts fine a a file server, all workstations can access network drives, and do all day to day work. I just can't log in! :)
I damaged something in the administrator profile (I am guessing), just not sure what.
I can boot with ERD Commander 2007 access the drive, using a memory stick I can transfer the files needed from a working 2003 server, or from CD.
Thanks in advance!!!!
