File Server becomes unavailable with Event ID 2020 and 1009...?

Asked by tenover in Windows 2003 Server

I run a dedicated file server here at my job for about 150 people.  It does nothing else besides being a file server, and there is nothing else installed on it besided Symantec Anti-Virus (Corporate Edition).  Yesterday we started getting calls from people who couldn't access their .pst files (stored on the server).  We could still access files on the server, but could not do anything with the .pst files (copy, open, etc..).  We thn logged into the server and there was a message about Windows not being activated(!!??!).  This server has been up and running fine (and activated) for a couple years now.  When checking the System log, I see a few Event 2020's, and in the Application log I see the Event ID 1011 followed by a 1009 (Activation errors).  After a reboot everything went back to normal.  Ideas?Start Free Trial
