User account for a Windows Service that can be used on 2 different domains

I have just installed some monitoring software which operates as a Windows Service on DOMAIN1 and monitors a number of remote servers that operate on a seperate domain DOMAIN2.

The monitoring service requires a user account in order to run the service on DOMAIN1 so it can monitor the servers on DOMAIN2. However I have found it difficult in order to specify a valid user account that the service will run on both domains. Is there a way to get round this?
