Windows 2003 moving Certificate Authority to a new server

Asked by bjennings in Windows 2003 Server

Hello,

I need  to move our CA to a new server.  I have not worked with CA much before so I want to make sure I am going to do this correctly.  According to Microsoft you have to keep the new server the same name has the old server, but I can't do that.  Since the CA only issues certificates to DC's and users who have encryption (8 certificates in total), can I just install the CA on a new server and reissue certificates to the DC's?
