What's the concept of clutering Exchange 2003 with SAN Storage

Tags: Microsoft, Exchange 2003, 2003, HP, MSA 1000
Hi Experts, I need your advises. I need to find out the concept on how to cluster Exchange 2003 with a SAN box. I have 2 HP servers with the appropraite HBA cards and a Brocade switch setup with MSA1000. We intend to cluster the Exchange 2003 in an active/passive configuration. What I need to know is, when I assign a storage partition from the SAN Storage to server 1, does server 2 sees the same partition at the same time? Example. Drive J is assigned to server 1 for the mailbox store, is Drive J suppose to appear on server 2 at the same time? Or the MS clustering software suppose to take care of it. I believe only 1 drive should appear at a given time to prevent corruption of both servers writing data to the servers at the same time.
