Cannot fit 29GB of data on 40GB DDS tape drive using NT Backup!?

Hello,
I am backing up roughly 29GB of data to a 40GB DDS (hp) tape. The tape drive is a Dell Powervault 100T.

I am using NT backup to do this and I when it gets to about 75% complete, it asks for a new tape drive saying the current one is full.

Has this something to do with data compression or the way NT backs up data? Any insight would be greatly appreciated...Start Free Trial
