Environment:
NT 4.0 Domain Controller
2000 Server in domain as member server
2003 Server in domain as member server
7 Workstations all on static IPs
We added this 2003 server in anticipation of migrating to AD. Haven't done that yet as some other hardware needs to be purchased and implemented. However, we are using the 2003 server as a file server since it has a much bigger hard drive than the NT server. All of the XP machines can see the 2003 and the other two 2000 machines can see it. One workstation, a 2000 box, can't see the 2003 Server using the hostname (SERVER1), although I can use an UNC path to get to the shares on SERVER1. On the 2000 workstation in question, SERVER1 does not appear in the network browser (My Network Places>Entire Network>Microsoft Windows Network>OURDOMAIN). Actually, on this 2000 box, nothing but the NT 4.0 server, the 2000 server and the other two 2000 workstation appear in the browser. None of the XP boxes nor the 2003 server appear.
Any suggestions?
