I have two servers (Server A and Server B). Server A has the D drive shared. Share permissions consist of giving full control to the Domain Admin group. File permissions are such that I have full access to all the folders on that drive. Mapped a drive on Server B to the share on Server A.
Problem I am having is that when I try to access a file from Server A through the mapped drive on Server B, I am given the following message:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
I checked the effective permissions for my ID and it shows I have full rights to the file. The file I'm trying to access is a *.bat file from the other server. I can access other files on the share with no issues (change, delete, etc.....) except for these two bat files. If I log onto server A directly I can modify and edit the file with no issues. So that points to the share permissions....but those are at full for the Domain Admin group. This was working just fine yesterday....so I'm at a bit of a loss. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
