I run Symantec BackupExec 12 and backup about 10 servers....All WIndows 2003, including 2 DCs, some SQL servers, Exchange 2003, etc....I run 3 or 4 jobs, including a job that backs up all my SQL databases, one that backups the Information Store, and then another that backs up files/data. While I'm confident that the data is all being backed up, I still have nightmares thinking about how looooong it might take to restore some of these servers, especially Exchange, which houses our massive Information Store (75GB). What is THE best/easiest way to restore a server in the event of say, a hardware failure (if I had to order new hardware and restore to that, or wipe the old box clean and start from scratch)? I like the Symantec products, and if they offer something that can take snapshots a couple times a day or something similar, I'd be all for it. I'm assuming I'd probably have to also purchase a massive disk array to store all these backups/snapshots as well....Right now it's all to LTO. Thanks in advance.
