Hi,
Im a technician at a school. The pupils have discovered how to create batch files, so I want to put some security in place to prevent it. The pupils that I caught used notepad to create the files. Although I know there are other ways of creating them, I disabled notepad and wordpad just to try to slow the pupils down until I find a solution. The problem now is that teachers have said they need the pupils to use notepad.
So my question is... How can I prevent the pupils from running and/or creating batch files without stopping them from being able to run any log in scripts etc. I've thought of blocking them and creating a white list, but it's so long since the policies were created, that I can't be sure that I wont miss one or two files. So is there another way? If this is the only solution, could someone please briefly remind me how to do this please?
Im using Microsoft Server 2003 with XP clients.
Thanks in advance
