Extending Dynamic Disk

hi,
I have a Windows 2003 with a Disk0 (Basic) [Volume (C:)] ,
and a Disk1 (Dynamic) coming from a SAN, with Volume (X:), say 100GB.
Who implemented this server, decided to create such disk as Dynamic.

Now I am going to expand (SAN side) the LUN, and my Disk1 will be, say 150GB.

I have simulated in laboratory the situation, in a Virtual Machine,
using both DISKPART and Disk Management-Extend Volume,
extending original Volume from 100 to 150 MB.
What comes out is the creation of another partition in the same Disk1,
of 50 MB, always named X:, so that X: volume will be 150MB.
But I see 2 partitions in the same disk,  same Volume (X:).

The  picture reports phases from a laboratory Virtual Machine.

Question: is there a way to extend original Partition/Volume from 100 to 150 GB
as I do by Diskpart/Extend in Basic Disks ?

(As shown in last frame of picture, simulated deleting and re-creating Test volume )

Thanks
vic
