The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Odd Windows 2003R2 AD DC behavior

I have a DC for my domain, which is a child domain of a corporate forest, which is behaving oddly.  
This DC is running Windows 2003 R2 SP2 (plus other patches) and has the RID master FSMO role and holds a copy of the GC.

The Administrator user for the domain, when logged in to this server, cannot save changes to the Exchange attributes in any user object.  However, the same Administrator user, logged into a different DC (with the infrastructure role) can, which means it is not user permissions.  

The Exchange system manager tools have been uninstalled and reinstalled.
The AD diagnostic tools show no problems on the server in question.

So, thinking perhaps it might be some corruption in the locally-stored profile for said Administrator user, I blew away the Administrator profile, re-logged-in as Administrator and let the profile rebuld.  

The problem persists, so that's not it.  That means there's a problem on that specific server, that is not directly related to the user profile.  

Anyone have any ideas where I can look next?
