Time is off on most servers and client machines by two minutes
We have a Windows 2003 network and our time is off on most of our servers and clients by two minutes. Our primary server gets its time from an external source and when you run net time one of the client machines or servers with the wrong time it sees the server and displays the write time at the command line but not on the task bar. Any assistance offered would be greatly appreciated.

I ran net time /querysntp and got time.windows.com, 0x1. I ran net time /setsntp on one machine. Run on the rest? Is there an Atomic Software package that may keep better time?
Is this affectecting windows time as well?

We only have Windows OS machines and it is affecting most end user computers and servers.
you have to set up the time on your PDC. you should be fine if you use one of these time servers: http://tf.nist.gov/tf-cgi/servers.cgi

We set up the time on the PDC with different time servers but the issue still occurs intermittently.

Will try the steps in the FSMO link before the group policy steps and update.

I am unable to run this command on the command line: w32tm /query /source
Sorry I think those switches are from Vista.
On one of the poorly client PCs, ensure the Windows Time service is running and set to Auto and then run
w32tm /resync /rediscover

The time was correct after the running of the command. We are using the PDC to receive time from an external source. I will check through the steps and double check and update.

So far the issue has not reoccurred. Will continue to monitor.

The problem has not occurred again. Thank you everyone.
"This computer is not currently configured to use a specific SNTP server.
The command completed successfully."
If not then you may try to run this command: "net time /setsntp:"
it will reset your servers/computers to find your PDC as time source.
