Windows 2003 Cluster with 2 Heartbeat Network Cards
Hi,
I have just setup a windows 2003 2 node cluster. All works well, however I would like to make another network card available for heartbeat. EAch node has 4 network cards; 2 for public(teamed) and another 2 for heartbeat.
Windows can see all the network cards, however on the cluster administrator, it can only see the public network card and only one of the heartbeat network cards
I was wondering on how it may be possible to add the 4th network card to the cluster to be used for redundancy? Thanks.

Actually, dug in a litter further and Microsoft does'nt like Teaming either for W2K3 (2008 is ok)

I stand corrected
Microsoft does not recommend the use of any type of fault-tolerant adapter or "Teaming" for the heartbeat. If you require redundancy for your heartbeat connection, use multiple network adapters set to Internal Communication Only and define their network priority in the Cluster configuration. Issues seen with early multi-ported network adapters, verify that your firmware and driver are at the most current revision if you use this technology.

Are your cards shown in ncpa.cpl? Are they connected? Are IP addresses set properly when doing "ipconfig /all" on both modes? Can your servers ping using new NIC IP addresses?
