Your card is actually broadcom BCM5784M.
So you should download driver from http://broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netlink_k57.php

tapanpattanaik,

If you do not know, DELL has their own website whereby to download driver all you need to do is enter the "service tag" for your laptop.
The website is - http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

DELL SERVICE TAG is like a unique serial no. that is different for all DELL products.

by: gtworekPosted on 2009-09-12 at 03:09:17ID: 25315819

This is true only if Windows 2003 Enterprise is supported on this platform.
AFAIK XPS Studio 16 has no such support.

by: manav08Posted on 2009-09-12 at 03:10:12ID: 25315824

Go to the DELL WEBSITE as I suggested and enter your SERVICE TAG no. which should be on the base of the notebook.
Also note that 99% of the times XP drivers are same with Server 2003 drivers. If it is the wrong driver it will just NOT INSTALL so there is nothing to worry about even if you choose a wrong driver, as it just wont install

by: gtworekPosted on 2009-09-12 at 03:11:01ID: 25315827

Same question again... Are you sure XP is supported on XPS Studio 16? :)

by: manav08Posted on 2009-09-12 at 03:15:46ID: 25315840

@gtworek,

I am not sure. When tapanpattanaik puts the service tag no. he will know for sure. It is quite possible XP Drivers re not available but even if it is a Windows 7 or VISTA driver it might work or it might not. All you can do is try.

by: gtworekPosted on 2009-09-12 at 03:17:56ID: 25315843

manav08:
So I suggest: get the newest drivers directly from NIC manufacturer website
You suggest: download something and try. Maybe it will work

Of course it is tapanpattanaik's decision which way is better...

by: manav08Posted on 2009-09-12 at 03:20:15ID: 25315848

@gtworek,

I did not disagree with your answer :-)
All I am saying is that his ffirst bet would be to try the DELL WEBSITE and then go about exploring other sources.

by: gtworekPosted on 2009-09-12 at 03:24:37ID: 25315859

Sure. Laptop manufacturer is very good point to start and dell has really nice support with service tags.
But in such case it's not helpful and I'm sure broadcom website is better choice.

by: manav08Posted on 2009-09-12 at 03:29:18ID: 25315871

@gtworek,

We are all entitled to our own opinion. I do not disagree with your solution either. Let author decide.

by: gtworekPosted on 2009-09-12 at 03:33:27ID: 25315884

Now he haves two possibilities which always is better than have only one :)

by: tapanpattanaikPosted on 2009-09-12 at 03:37:22ID: 31627872

many many thanks to  "gtworek" ( because i have directly downloaded and that works fine) and thanks to "manav08" for his good  approach to down from dell website. and  thanks to "demazter"
