4 Gb will be good for your environment.

The slow would be something else, Check your DNS settings, its to be pointed to local DNS not to the ISP's. Check your servers network card setting (duplex and speed settings, drivers etc). I want you to test terminal session from inside your lan. Its slow or fast as expected?
If its good performance, trace through your network settings...cable, switch, connectivity etc.

Actually it one of five servers in a COLO rack. The COLO engineer tested up to the firewall as OK. The switch is only a 100 MB. I am sure the DNS and NICs are setup right. All five servers have the same slow behavior opening applications and broesing with internet explorer. Do you think if the 100MB switch is old may have heat damage it might create these problems.

MS Support was working on the Exchange Server remote and setup the NICs like this;
DC IPs
exchange dc  server1: 192.168.1.10
server dc2: 192.168.1.11
DNS config:
Server 1:  Point DNS to 192.168.1.10 only (second entry blank)
Server2:  Point DNS to 192.168.1.11 only (second entry blank)

Should I change it to this;
DNS config:
Server 1:  Point DNS to 192.168.1.11 only (second entry blank)
Server2:  Point DNS to 192.168.1.10 only (second entry blank)
Will it effect the exchange 5.5?

Check your Terminal Server's DNS Settings. Find it with 'ipconfig /all' command from a command prompt. is it differ from your local DNS servers (192.168.1.11/10)? Could you perform smooth terminal sessions from the internal clients smoothly?

Thanks

The terminal server is a member server is on a domain with the two DCs , The two DCs are DNS servers. Every few days the terminal server looses the abilty to map unc patchs to the domain servers. So I thought I would ask expert exchange should the DCs primary DNS be the local DNS or the other DCs DNS.
