The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Hello,
I am having several "Application" errors in the event log which I do not know what they mean. Could you please help me diagnose and fix them. They are below:
----ERROR 1----
Failed to perform redirection of folder Desktop. The files for the redirected folder could not be moved to the new location. The folder is configured to be redirected to <\\aaad-fs\Tech-Profiles$\%USERNAME%\Desktop>.  Files were being moved from <C:\Documents and Settings\USER1\Desktop> to <\\aaad-fs\Tech-Profiles$\USER1\Desktop>. The following error occurred while copying <C:\Documents and Settings\USER1\Desktop\Microsoft Excel.pnagent> to <\\aaad-fs\Tech-Profiles$\USER1\Desktop\Microsoft Excel.pnagent>:
The security descriptor structure is invalid.

---ERROR 2 (Related to error 1)----
Failed to perform redirection of folder My Documents. The files for the redirected folder could not be moved to the new location. The folder is configured to be redirected to <\\aaad-fs\Tech-Profiles$\%USERNAME%\My Documents>.  Files were being moved from <C:\Documents and Settings\USER1\My Documents> to <\\aaad-fs\Tech-Profiles$\USER1\My Documents>. The following error occurred while copying <C:\Documents and Settings\USER1\My Documents\desktop.ini> to <\\aaad-fs\Tech-Profiles$\USER1\My Documents\desktop.ini>:
The security descriptor structure is invalid.

----ERROR 3----
The description for Event ID ( 2000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Office 11 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Microsoft Office Outlook, Outlook failed to start correctly last time.  Starting Outlook in safe mode will help you correct or isolate a startup problem in order to successfully start the program.  Some functionality may be disabled in this mode.

***For months on this server only, users including myself are prompted to open outlook in safe mode when launching outlook 2003, regardless of remote or local session.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
