Asked by stonneway in Windows 2003 Server
Hi all,
We have a windows 2003 server thats grinding to a halt periodically. At these times the avg disk write queue length shoots up to 200+ and has hit 4000+.
Is there a way I can narrow down what might be writing so much to the drives? The read queue is always fine.
It could also be a disk issue, but we have to wait to reboot the server to do a chkdsk /f so I want to look at alternatives in the mean time.
Olly
