using Windows 2003 SBS.
just installed the latest Windows update and the C:\ space went down to 450MB (it was around 2 GB) i dont have "ANY" 3rd party apps installed on C:, i think windows is keeping the updated in C: and not deleting them once installed. any solution?

I would double-check the C:\Windows\Temp folder for any temporary files that were created during the installation process that can be removed.
I would also suggest performing a file search on your C: drive and sorting the results by File Size. Look for any large files that might have been downloaded such as an application installer - you might want to filter for anything over 50MB.

also check c:\windows\
allow view for hidden folders and you shoudl see $NTuninstall... folders
these are the uninstalls for the updates you have recvd. you can delete them as longs as you dont plan uninstalling teh updates, you can always redownload to uninstall if required so they arent really needed
just to add youc an 100% delete those files as they can always be re downloaded, if your really nervous you can back them up elsewhere but really not needed,

Where is your WSUS content and databases?
You will see a c:\WSUS folder. Size it.
Move it to another partition:

Check the %temp% folder and empty them and also the temporary internet files
If still you are facing with issue with space then you can move the $Uninstall folders present under C:\windows to a different drive on the server. But do not move $NtServicePackUninstall folder or anything having ServicePack in the file name
