oh yeah but change the C: to U: in your case:
C:\Windows\System32\ntback
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have a batch file that calls up ntbackup and creates a backup file in a new folder created using the date variable:
It uses this command line:
MD U:\backup02\BACKUP_%Date:~
C:\Windows\System32\ntback
This works great, and creates a backup.bkf file under (for today as an example) U:\backup02\BACKUP_2009101
Now, I am trying to get ntbackup to generate a summary log file by adding /l:s in the command line.
C:\Windows\System32\ntback
What this does instead is generate a file under the mapped drive with an "s" appended to it!
example: "U:\backup02\BACKUP_200910
What have I done wrong here? I have tried putting the /l:s switch at a different spot in the command, and it causes the backup not to execute at all.
thanks!

I had tried placing /l:s in that location before and it didn't work. I just tried it again and it wouldn't kick off the backup process. Actually it would pull up NTbackup then immediately exit out.
However, I then removed all " marks from the command line and stuck the /l:s switch where you suggested .... and it appears to now be working! Hooray!

Try this:
up.exe backup "@c:\backup\backup02.bks" /l:s /m normal /f c:\backup02\BACKUP_%Date:~ -4,4%%Date :~-10,2%%D ate:~-7,2% %\backup.b kf
C:\Windows\System32\ntback
