Installing WSUS on Win XP Pro

Hi,

Is it possible to install WSUS onto an XP Pro machine and have server 2003 servers updating from it?

Afraid not, I think it requires IIS 6.0 as a minimum (Windows 2003 server version). IIS on XP is 5.1 I think.

Nope, minimum requirement is IIS 6.0. Why can't it run on one of the 2003 servers you mentioned?

long story but the servers are on a secure nework with no access to the internet. The PC was going to do all the downloads and then feed the updates to the servers over the LAN

what about an older version of WSUS? Would any of them run on XP?
