Server 2003 Standard upgrade to r2

I am having some problems upgrading several servers in our environment to Server 2003 standard r2. Currently, the servers are running 2003 standard SP2 and I am just trying to bump them up to R2. the problem I am running into is that some of the servers have an OEM license and my R2 media is VL. I have the OEM keys, but they won't work with the VL software. Is there a work around for this problem? Thank you for any help!

This should do the trick.

I tried that, but when I tried to activate the product, it would not take my VLK. I am guessing because the OS was installed with the OEM media?
I just read the article, and this disclosure is on the top of it:

Warning The steps in this article only apply to Volume License media. If you follow these steps on OEM media or on retail media, you will not change the product key.
So, you have changed the primary Product on the current OS to the VL key that you have?

I have seen this issue before that you must do a full install of the VL verison instead of being able to change the PK because the system was OEM.
I guess so, all I am trying to do is update 2003 (which was installed as OEM) to R2 but the only media I have is for VL. I was hoping not to have to do the reinstall :-(
I actually downloaded JellyBean to find the PK on the server, so I will give that a shot and let you know how it works.
Let me know. Thanks!
I am sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I tried to change the PK using JellyBean and that option was grayed out. I had all other options, just not "Change Windows Key"
