DFS Namespace on Server 2003 Std SP2 and Server 2012 R2
I have 3 domain controllers (1 is 2003 Std SP2, 2 are 2012 R2). Ultimately, the 2003 dc will go away, and will only be a file/print server...but for now, I am trying to get roles/features moved to the 2012 servers.
Currently, ADDS, FSMO roles, DNS, NTP, and DHCP are running smoothly between the 2012 R2 servers.
All DC's are GC's.
Domain and Forest Functional Levels are Server 2003
We use DFS Namespaces on the 2013 server. I want to either run this also on one of the 2012 R2 servers (so it would be on 2003 and 2012), or move it to one of the 2012 R2 servers.
We are not replicating DFS.
1) Can I run DFS Namespaceson both servers pointing to the same shares?
2) If not, can I remove it from 2003 and recreate it on 2012?
Is there anything I should be aware of in this process?
If additional information is needed, please let me know.
Thank you for ANY assistance you can provide.

The second question was what I needed to push forward with this project. "2) If not, can I remove it from 2003 and recreate it on 2012?"
This is why I accepted both yours and my answers as solutions to this problem.
Since I can't award points to myself...you get the prize for getting me started.
Thank you again.
