Exchange Server 2003 sp2. Server had no logon screen, but was able to connect via rdp. Server had updated patches and needed a reboot.. Reboot overnight, backup ran successfullly... can net view to exchange server and email (thankfully!) is working. Just can't log into server.... Just sitting at generic "Dell" jpg image on desktop. Ping successful; telnet does not work. Found this on ms site, but this seems to apply only if the screen is black and you can login even though the login screen is not there.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;906510I tried ctl alt del and loggin in regardless, and nothing happened. Cant connect via rdp.
I'm leary about trying the reg fix above on a otherwise working server. Is there a way to shut down the server nicely and reboot into safe mode to see what is going on? Any other suggestions welcome (I'm wondering if C is getting low on space, and that might be causing the issue...)
Thanks!
