Outlook to sync with Global Address List

I have exchange server 2003 and outlook 2003 environment.
Offline address list synchronises with GAL (Global address list) after it is rebuilt. No issue. But it is a different stoy when it comes to the online addresses.
How do I get both outlook and exchange server Global addresses synchronise online?
