how to install exchange management tools on management server
Hello experts.
I have an EBS 2008 network with backup exec 12 installed on the management server. The exchange agent and aofo are also installed. I am backing up to a tape drive. In order to successfully backup the exchange store to tape, I need to install the exchange management tools on the management server.
My issue is that I just cant find the install files on any of the DVDs. I can download the 32bit version from MS site but all of the servers have windows 2008 x64 as the OS.
Where can i get the 64 bit exchange management tools?

you can download exchange 2007 sp1 from microsoft's web site
just perform a custom install selecting only the management tools
you'll also want to install the latest update rollup

If you installed EBS following all of the wizards, you should have both the Exchange Management console and shell installed on both the Management server and Messaging server. I installed EBS about 6 months ago and the wizard driven install procedure installed Exchange management components on my Management server as well as the messaging server.
You may have a problem with backup exec on the same server as the mgmt server. the tools for sce are pretty well integrated. The default installation places all of the exchange mgmt consoles on the various servers. So my guess is that something installed over them (like backup exec)
You would have been better off to add another server (like a hyper-v) to place your backup tools on them and keep the mgmt and msg servers clean.

You need to run the exchange setup and just select the management tools for installation, it's on disc 2 I think
