Essential Business Server Issue

I loaded a EBS enviroment with the MGT, SEC and MSG servers. I wanted to test the Replacement Mode installation so i shut down the MSG server and created a new one. This is in our Hyper-V Lab enviroment.
The new MSG server loads reboots and starts the EBS wizard. You add it to the domain and the reboots and starts the process of loading all the applications. The progress goes from Installation Initialization to Role Configuration.
Then on the Exchange Server installation it fails as we get the following message "An error accured whilst configuring the Exchange Role on Messaging Server"
At this point you cannot go on the with install, you can only cancel. As this is a test enviroment for my exam I would really like to know what I am doing wrong. The old MSG Server config i moved the databases to the d:\ drive and also created a 2nd database.
Please help.
