You can also download a trial copy of Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery. Install onto the guest OS and image the machine. Once you have an image you can take vmware converter and convert the image directly to a VMWare virtual machine.
You can also use vmware converter directly, just point to the running virtual machine or install within the guest OS. Then point to vmware server/esx server and you're all set
Sorry I don't think I am following you. You are saying install Symantec Bacup Exec System Recovery on a vm and image it?? And then I can take an image and convert the image directly to a virtual machine. Sorry you have me completely lost their..
Could you like break into a few simple steps. Will be much appreciated.
Thanks
You have it correct.
You can do one of two options
1. Instal VMWare Converter onto the OS of the guest vm and convert directly to vmware. If that doesn't work go with option 2
2. Install trial version of Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Server onto the guest virtual machine OS. Image to a network or local share. Use VMWare converter to convert the image to a VMware virtual machine
Hope this helps
