We have an ESXi server (dual NIC) with a VM. The VM needs to have a public IP for IIS, but we need to also access the VM within our intranet to load large files, etc. I figured I would have one NIC defined as internal while the 2nd as external, but I don't see a way to set this up. Thanks!

Option1
Create a virtual switch and call it dmz.
Move the iis guest OS to this switch.
Give this iis guest the public ip.
Connect this virtual switch to the dmz port of your firewall
Create rules for access from your lan to dmz and from your wan to dmz.
Voila!
Option2
Create a nic team and assign them a failover for redundancy
Configure vlans on your network switch.
Configure a vlan for your iis machine to be in a dmz
Configure trunk ports on the network switch to which your ESXi host is connected to.
Assign the trunk ports to the netowrk switch.
Assign the vlans appropriately to the esx guest machines for access
Config your firewall appropriately so that the vlans can access your lan or dmz properly.
