Hyper-v Snapshot deleted but AVHD not merging

I have a Hyper-v Server that has one VM on it. The Snapshot has been deleted from the Hyper-V manager, and shows no snapshots, but if you look under Snapshots it still has a massive AVHD file that is growing out of control. I need to merge this file, but don't know how I can do this manually as I always usually do it by shutting down the VM, deleting the snapshot, restarting the VM and it automatically merges, but it didn't happen this time. I need help, because that AVHD is growing fast.

I wanted to say when you look under the Snapshots directory under Explorer you still see the AVHD, not inside the Hyper-V Manager.

This might help. I've merged snapshots several times before, but no matter how long I leave the VM turned off it never tries to merge. It usually would try to merge when I would restart the VM and then talk about 45 mins, but the process never kicks off. Never had this problem.
Wait patiently for the AVHD to merge with the VHD (depending on the snapshot file size, this might take a long time)

No amount of time would merge those files.  I've seen the merge process a hundred times, and it's just not doing. Normally in Hyper-V manager would show it Merging and the percentage, but that's not the case.  I left the VM down all night, 12 hours, and it never merged. The VM is only 80 GB, and the AVHD was only 16 GB, so it should have only taken less then an hour.  I ran this process..

and that merged the AVHD, but then the VHD was corrupt. It started, but generated a ton of errors and could not be seen on the network. I restarted the VM in Safe Mode, and kicked off a checkdisk. Once the checkdisk ran, it came up. Now I'm running into issues with trying to change the IP. Here's the article that relates.

I've followed this article but it hasn't fiex it yet. I'll update once I'm done or if anyone knows anything else plelase let me know.
