The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Installed new SSL certificate and now no web page is displayed

Asked by Wheelsup in Microsoft Identity Integration Server

Tags: IIS 6 & SSL Certificate

Hi,
A real problem has arrived at the weekend. Our ssl certificate expired on our extranet site (after our admin left) and after purchasing a new one and going through all the usual creating CSR and pasting certs data in the right places I have no webpage at all.

The background is simple; IIS6 running on Win2k3 server SP2, server sits on DMZ. There are other websites operating from this server - sharepoint and selfhelp(admin software).

The SSL vendor is Globalsign and I followed everything they told me to do on the website help pages and over the phone to install the certificate. So far after spending 6 hours on it I am exhausted and understandably pressured from my manager to get it working. If anyone has an idea of what I need to do, please suggest away. I have to get this server up and running asap as most of the company use it and their patience is getting stretched. I think it is a problem with IIS but the cert is present in the intermediate cert folders in console/root certificates and personal certificates in mmc. It's made GS scratch their heads too!

One indicator here is that when the new was installed the old one still remained as the only cert users could see, GS told me to go into mmc and delete the old cert and since then reissued a new one and redeployed it again, but this time the page is blank "cannot display web page".

The points reflect the urgency so please help.
