Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

hello,

I've installed SPS 3.0 on my server.
everything went well. I created a web application "succesfully". I created a site collection "succesfully".
Didn't receive an error anywhere. so when I go to my top level site i get cannot display the webpage.
when I press browse in my IIS I get the same.
I allready did a repair of SPS but that didn't help.
I've worked with 2.0 alot but have no experience with this 3.0.
Anyone got an idea what can be wron?
