I have a document library that uses different content types. I installed them using the following command line:
stsadm.exe -o installfeature -name MyContentTypeName -force
stsadm.exe -o activatefeature -filename MyContentTypeName\feature.
When the content isn't already existing, its fine. But its already existing, if i make modification to the content type (let say add a column for example) and if i try the 2 above command lines, the content won't get updated.
The only way i found to do it, is to uninstall the content type and run the 2 command line above. BUT, i have some content in my library that are of type "My Content Type", then it won't let. All i would like to do is update the content type so that when i go in the "Create View" page for example, i would see the newly added column.

If you go into Site Settings, you should be able to modify content types there. I do not use stsadm to create content types, but they should be listed under Site Content Types just like ones created through the SharePoint interface.
