WSS 3.0 - Cannot connect to the configuration database

Recently our SQL and WSS 3.0 server restarted at 3AM because of a Windows Update, ever since then we cannot load the SharePoint site and get a "Cannot connect to the configuration database" error.

IIS app pool credentials check out, all the SQL Server 2005 services are running, SharePoint services are runing.  What's going on?Start Free Trial
