The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Sharepoint list library - newform.aspx is blank

Asked by adlink_la in MOSS-Sharepoint

I created a Knowledge Base via a "custom list" in Sharepoint.  I had our IT department using it for a few weeks when inexplicably the newform.aspx broke and now shows a blank.

Current settings of my Knowledge Base list library:
I am using content types. Some columns are lookup columns with lists inside the same site.  Other than that there is nothing special about this list library.

Solution attempts:
Ive tried (1) recreating the newform.aspx via Sharepoint Designers custom forms (2) saved the broken library into the list templates and redeployed it to another site collection, different server, with default layouts and default master page (3) recreated the library using VSeWSS 1.1 and moved all the content over via code only to have it break again 2 weeks later.

Step (3) seemed to work but I dont want to have this break again later down the road.  Step (1) also worked.  I created a newform2.aspx page but I cant force the list library to use newform2.aspx instead of the broken newform.aspx via Sharepoint Designer.  For some reason, this list library is not accepting any changes to the new form.  It gets a bit worse.  There is no error message on this one.

Has anyone seen this?
