ProtocolError occured trying to complete the request. The server returned a status code of : Forbidden" when viewing RSS Feeds in MOSS 2007
Trying to setup an RSS Feed Viewer on my MySite page and I'm currently getting the folowing error:
ProtocolError occured trying to complete the request. The server returned a status code of : Forbidden and the status description is : "Forbidden"
This is seen with any RSS feed and is seen whether or not we're going through ISA... Fiddler is not showing any 403 errors when loading the page. Additionally, I can paste the RSS feed URL into a page viewer web part and it comes up just fine.
Any ideas? Thanks.

How can that be? I can paste the same RSS feed link into the page viewer web part and it comes up fine. If it was getting blocked by a proxy or firewall, how could it come up fine outside of the RSS web part?
I believe that the page viewer web part is using your browser's proxy configuration. This may explain why that works and going "directly" does not.

Whoa.. Forgot about this question. It wasn't a proxy issue at all. It actually turned out to be the user had to point directly to the XML rather than just to the /.
