I am doing it... :) So DNS is the only place to set it up? There is nothing I should do in Sharepoint or IIS? Some more detailed instructions would be appreciated.

Browse All TopicsI have MOSS 2007 running on Windows Server 2008 and IIS 7. It is an Intranet portal accessible only on LAN. I need to setup host headers to have friendly URLs.
Currently I have the following:
http://servername/ - default site
http://servername:20000 - Central Administration
http://servername:30000 - My Sites
I would like to have the following:
http://intranet.ourdomain.
http://admin.intranet.ourd
http://mysites.intranet.ou
Can somebody provide me with clear instructions how to achieve it?

Who is manageing the DNS servers in your network ? Speak with them and ask them to create a record in the internal and external dns for those user friendly urls
