WSS 3.0 - Users Added, unable to login - Error: Access Denied

Hi,

I have just setup a WSS 3.0 site and it is all functioning. I can login into the site using either local administrator or also domain administrator.

However, I cannot get normal AD accounts to login. I add a user account within the WSS control panel, and match name...it looks in AD and finds the name and matches it fine. But when I got to access the website with this user, I get error: access denied.

How can I solve this?

Cheers,

Ken

I have already visited this page. Accounts have been created as per guidelines, my problem does not exist because of deleted user accounts and incorrect SIDs, as stated on the website.

Any other suggestions?
What is the permission levels that perticular person is having ?
Is you site is Anonymous access or Authentication access ?
If it is login access then what is the permission levels that the parent site is having ?
If the permission level on Parent site is Limited Access then You can't access the Child sites under that perticular web application.
Thanks
I have tryed every possible access method, anonymous, authenticated etc. Still get Access denied...
I just tried installing MOSS 2007 evaluation on a seperate new VM, I am receiving the same problem with this also....

I have just run setup with all defaults > goto central administration > add a user > add a normal user account (which it syncs with active directory fine) > but then I am still getting access denied trying to be that user at the front end.

This has really got me stumped!
Do i need to add permission for users for the front end somewhere (i've been adding them into the back end)....?

I just resolved an issue very similar to this after several hours of research and thought I'd post the solution here to maybe help some other poor sap in the same boat I was in.  The key for me was to access "People and Groups" WHILE LOGGED INTO THE END USER SHAREPOINT SITE, rather than while in the Central Administration site.  Once there I was able to add the appropriate users / groups and folks could log into the sharepoint site.
