Thanks. I tested this on a machine that has Office 2007 and I did not get the popup message.

I have Office 2003 and Excel Viewer 2007 installed on my local machine.
I have created some lists and want to export the results to excel. When I click the "Export to Spreadsheet" button/link (under Actions), I get this error: "to export a list you must have windows sharepoint services-compatible application"
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

It has to do with your version of Office. I am guessing the excel 2007 viewer is not going to allow you to do it. Office 2003 is sharepoint enabled, but does not work as well with 2007. If you has wss 2.0 or sharepoint portal then Office 2003 would work.
