I have successfully installed Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 but whenver I tries to create a website I am unable to do so its giving me "Service Unavailable" error, also I am unable to switch ON "Enable Self-Service Site Creation" on it, its giving me error as
"Cannot enable site creation because there is no site collection at "/" on the virtual server."
Can anyone provide me the user manual of creating webstes using WSS 2.0 along with adding Service Site list on server.

Hi,
Now we are through with the installation and SITE creation, but now in the site if we create (after clicking on submit button of DB or Survey) any Discussion Board or if we create Survey its giving error of "Page Cannot be displayed" OR "The page Cannot be found".
We are not able to proceed further.
Please help ASAP, We are using WSS 2.0

I've never received this error on SharePoint, and would be difficult to diagnose without knowing all the details of your installation, viewing your install logs, application logs, and event view -
but I would suggest (1) making sure IIS is configured to run the appropriate version of .NET framework (2.0) on your site, (2) making sure the _vti_bin is set to allow executables, and (3) that your service accounts are running under the best practice permissions (http://whitepapers.techre

In SharePoint Central Administration, first you need to create a Web Application, then you need to create a Site Collection within that Web Application, and then create at least one site within that Site Collection.
