The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Delete a folder from Document Library via WebPart

Asked by mrichmon in MS SharePoint

Tags: Sharepoint MOSS 2007

We have a sharepoint site set up with multiple pages - each page acting as a workspace for a committee.  Each page has a document library for documents for that specific committee.  Permissions to each document library are set to Contribute for a group named after the committee, and Full Control for the site owners - no other permissions.  The site owners have Full Control of the workspace page and the committee group has Read permissions only for their page.

i.e.
Site: Committee Workspaces
3 pages: default.aspx; CommitteeA.aspx; CommitteeB.aspx
2 Document Libraries: DocA; DocB

Groups: Committee Owners; Committee A; Committee B

Committee A group has read permission to default.aspx; CommitteeA.aspx and contribute permission to DocA

Committee B group has read permission to default.aspx; CommitteeB.aspx and contribute permission to DocB

Committee Owners group has Full Control permission to all

CommitteeA.aspx has a webpart with the DocA - options set to Full Toolbar
CommitteeB.aspx has a webpart with the DocB - options set to Full Toolbar

One of our users is in the Committee Owners.  If they visit CommitteeA.aspx they can hover over a folder in DocA webpart and have the option to Delete the folder.
If the same user visits CommitteeB.aspx they cannot get any options if they hover over a folder in DocB webpart.  However, if they click on DocB so they are taken to the DocB/Forms/AllItems.aspx page/view - then they can hover over the folders and delete.

Any ideas why the behavior is different?  I though I compared settings and they all match.  It is not restricted to this user either, but we would like it fixed for users with the Full Control.

Thanks for any ideas
