im wondering if its possible to do that: we have our userhome shares in the windows explorer which i find a bit oldfashioned.
i would like to incorporate this into a more graphical way in MOSS 2007 to kake the users to get used to sharepoint step by step.
are there any ways to achieve that?

I don't quite understand the last question. The 'My Site' and profile are two completely different entities. If you configure the profile import and set up a My Site web application like http://mysites.yourdomain.
IE: This URL will show the current logged in users's profile
http://mysites.yourdomain.
These two URL's will show the profile for User1 and User2 (notice the URL is the same, only the query string changes)
http://mysites.yourdomain.
http://mysites.yourdomain.
The data shown in those public profiles is configured by the Farm Administrator and the user can control data the Farm Administrator has flagged as editable.
The 'My Site' for hosting my personal documents is in it's own 'Site Collection' which is like a Sharepoint web site sandbox. Each user owns their own person website and has full ownership of it. It's at a different URL
http://mysites.yourdomain.
http://mysites.yourdomain.
http://mysites.yourdomain.
Hmm, not really.
Sharepoint uses WebDAV so with my previous examples these are valid
http://mysites.yourdomain.
or
\\mysites.yourdomain.com\m
So, if you registered a DNS entry for FS1 and then added it as a 'Alternate Access Mapping' entry in Sharepoint so that both http://mysites.yourdomain.
im just wondering if this will be resolved in MOSS 2010?
the idea is to have user access to their userhomes and specific driver mappings through OWA. there must some way of configuring it, right?
the idea is: https://moss.mycompany.com
i want to have that feature working in OWA as well as in outlook
i already have
http://mysites.yourdomain.
configured on my MOSS. ill check for another solution because its not what im looking for
That URL is the 'Public Profile' I discussed in earlier comments. That is a global page available to all users. Comment http:/#25746482 is the only solution.
Your original question stated "I'm wondering if it's possible ..." and I've told you what is possible. Sometimes the correct answer is 'No'

Have you looked at 'My Sites' in Sharepoint? There is two components within it. A public profile for each user that can be seen by other users and a private 'My Site' that each user controls which includes document libraries and each user can control to add additional libraries or lists that they can choose to share with others.
