Question

Can the version history of a file on SharePoint be preserved when moving the file?

I would like to reorganize some of the files in the "Shared Documents" section of the site.  However, when I select the "Send To->Other Location" command, a copy is created, which shares none of the version history of the original file.  
I would like to keep that history attached to the file, is there any way to accomplish this?

That looks helpful, but it uses C#, and I have no way of editing C# at work.

Any other options?

You can edit C# with notepad  :)

I think you can export/import a list using stsadm commands and it will allow you to keep version history.  This doesn't help if you just want a single file though

It doesn't look like I can programmatically access the directory where the SharePoint server resides.  It's managed by a third party that is very cautious about security, so I have a feeling anything that circumvents the webpage wouldn't work.
