Hello, Here is the challenge; I have a friend who has a server at her workplace and a client outlook 2002 at her desktop. She had AT&T DSL modem service, and she switched to Verizon DSL. The minute she switched and opened outlook she got the following message: "The location messages are delivered to has changed for this user profile. To complete this operation, you may need to copy the contents of the old Outlook folders to the new Outlook folders. For information about how to complete the change of your mail delivery location, see Microsoft Outlook Help. Some of the shortcuts on the Outlook Bar may no longer work. Do you want Outlook to recreate your shorcuts? All shortcuts you have created will be removed." she clicked yes. Now she can't find all her previous inbox folder emails (actually the new inbox folder became empty). I tried to restore her .pst file from outlook it restored only her old deleted and sent folders emails but I can't find and restore her old inbox emails and folders. I appreciate any advice. Thanks. IT
itnema, yes, you can import the PST into her Outlook. But import in Outlook does not work well. It would be better to open the PST file as another Personal Folder. Then drag the emails and contacts from old personal folder to default personal folder.
I agree with War1 but were I think it is a little weird is that the e-mail address didn't change. The only think I can think is that your friend followed the directions verbatium. That leaves 2 possibilities, 1) the profile still exists. In which case go to start control panel - mail. go to the profiles tab and if there is more then one then check the choose profile at startup.
If there isn't 2 profiles then you need to do a search on the drive for PST files. once you find the pst note the location. I have have great sucess with importing pst into another pst as long as the pst being imported is under 2 gig.
