Hi,
I have a test lab which consists of :
1. A Windows 2003 Domain Controller, with full functional internal DNS. IP 192.168.42.3, Gateway 192.168.42.100.
2. A Client Windows XP PC, IP 192.168.42.50, Gateway 192.168.42.100, DNS - 192.168.42.3
3. A 2003 Server with isaserver 2004, (service pack 2). 2 network cards. Internal Card has an IP of 192.168.42.100 DNS Server 192.168.42.3, Gateway none. External network card = IP 1.1.1.1, Gateway 1.1.1.2, (router), DNS Servers - n/a
The client sends and collects e-mail from a box standard external ISP mail box, (POP3 collection, SMTP sending).
My problem is this : if I allow the isaserver to allow the client to send any outbound traffic to the external network, (the internet), you can send and receive e-mail without any problems its fine.
However, if I allow the isaserver to only allow :
HTTP
POP3
SMTP
The HTTP is fine, the POP3 e-mail download is fine. The problem is the SMTP. If I send an e-mail to myself its fine. If I send an e-mail to anyone on an external domain Outlook complains it cannot send it because its relay access. Which I know for a fact it isnt, (and I know what relay access is).
Now, I know its something to do with the ISA Server configuration because as outlined above if I tell the ISA Server to allow ALL outgoing traffic from the client it works perfectly. But if I limit it to only HTTP, POP3 and SMTP the SMTP dosent work properly.
Can someone tell me what else I need to configure on the ISA Server to get round this problem please.
Like I said its definatley an ISAServer issue.
