The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How do I setup Outlook 2007 connectivity using the RPC Filter in ISA 2006?

Asked by PaulRKrueger in MS Forefront-ISA, Exchange Email Server

Tags: , ,

I am trying to publish Exchange 2007 by using the Exchange RPC Filter in ISA 2006, but I'm running across some problems when attempting to connect with Outlook 2007.

When I attempt to connect Outlook will go from connected, to disconnected, to trying to connect over and over again, and will never actually connect to Exchange.  This only occurs with Outlook 2007, if I use Outlook 2003 I can connect without any issues.

On ISA I'm getting "Initiated Connection" and "Closed Connection" back to back to back, with the result codes of "0x80074e24 FWX_E_CONNECTION_KILLED" from the "Closed Connection"s.

I turned logging on with Outlook 2007 and and the following are generated in the event log on the client.

Source: Outlook
Event ID: 19
Rpc call (EcDoDisconnect) on transport (ncacn_ip_tcp) to server (mailbox.domain.com) failed with error code (6) after waiting (109) ms; eeInfo (none).

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

If anyone has Outlook 2007 working through ISA 2006 using the Exchange RPC Filter or knows what the problem could please, please let me know.
