The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Publishing OWA Exchange Server 2007 Using ISA Server 2006 Using FBA

Asked by KirstyP in MS Forefront-ISA, Exchange Email Server, SBS Small Business Server

Tags: , , , ,

Hi,
I have a windows 2003 R2 domain and am using Exchange 2007 behind a 2006 Standard Edition ISA server. I have installed a cert on the Exchange website drom an internal CA and  a public cert on the ISA server. I am able to log onto OWA externally (OWA is securely published using SSL bridging between ISA and Exchange), I can also log onto OWA internally using the internal cert. I have Forms based authentication configured on both the SSL web listener and the OWA site. I would like users to be able to log on to OWA using only their user name without domain whether they are connecting to Exchange directly (internally) or going through ISA from the internet. I can get this working internally by selecting FBA and user name only on the auhthentication settings of OWA but cannot get this to work when going through ISA no matter what combination of authentication and authentication delegation settings I choose on ISA. The best I can achieve is to have to use domain\username. My question is this:  Is it possible to log on to OWA via ISA using username only without domain, and if so what am I doing wrong? Please help - I'm getting so frustrated.

Thank you
